Tekken and KoF's backstory is practically the same, while Mortal Kombats have been rebooted multiple times, it sticks to the same plot: Fighters from earthrealm had to defend the earthrealm from being conqoured by participating in the MK tournament. Street fighter i think it's somewhere along the lines of tekken and KoF, but i can't guarantee it as i haven't really paid much attention to it.

i like the fact that king of fighters is combination of art of fighting + fatal fury + ikari warriors + other konami games. They even get Tekken, WWE, Gintama to take part in the tournament. Geese Howard once part of Tekken as well
